Where in the world is Archbishop Anthony Apuron?
While he was last spotted in Fairfield, California in January 2017, it appears he’s surfaced yet again.
This time, in the company of Pope Francis.
The photos appeared in the Vatican Insider Lastampa, a Vatican paper on February 10.
The photos captured were taken on February 7 and depicts a smiling Pope Francis with his hand on Apuron’s shoulder.
This may be his first public appearance since he sent his first video message to Guam Catholics recorded just after the first accusations were made against him.
In a similar message just weeks ago, via e-mail, Apuron again denied the allegations and reported his health was declining.
The latest accuser, Mark Apuron, alleges he was raped by his uncle.
The Vatican paper reports Apuron appeared in a wheelchair and stating, “Holy Father, I wanted to see you before dying.”
Five total civil lawsuits have been filed against Apuron to date, but have been held up due to his canonical trial.
Though a verdict was reportedly reached last year, it was not made public.
