When you hear Trench Challenge, some of you may think you have to be an extreme athlete. Well, that's not true, all you have to do is have courage, confidence and a whole lot of heart.

During this Sunday's competition there's a special Charity Challenge which Team KUAM is pitching in to help raise money for Special Olympics Guam. And you can, too!

You don't have to be at the top of the fitness game to join. Courtesy of Custom Fitness in Anigua, Coach Steven Sablan helped get our squad and our partner Special Olympics Guam get in shape for Sunday. "Just gonna make sure you guys are going to be prepared for our little obstacle course," he said.

Sure there will be the trained athletes competing - but there's also the charity challenge. An exclusive go time of 9:20am. For all those that register and participate in this Recreational Division proceeds from the registration will benefit Special Olympics Guam.

Race coordinator Tom Akigami said, "When Frank told me they use the money to directly benefit the athletes it touched my heart and I felt that we should continue its always." And Special Olympics director Frank Florig said, "We take whatever funds we get put into training or buying equipment or coming up with things that will go to things that will go to directly benefitting the athletes."

Athletes that are excited for Sunday include Nicolas Taitano, 21, who said when asked how excited she was about competing in Trench Challenge, "Excited but nervous! Never did this kind of challenge." She said she's looking forward to, "Just having fun and not like tire myself out when I'm out there."

And even if our friends get tired, not to worry because Team KUAM will be there to support them all the way.
