Check out our interactive map of liberation sites

Posted: Updated:

As part of our KUAM's liberation coverage, in partnership with the National Park Service our digital team has created a story map on KUAM Digital. KUAM social media manager Ken San Nicolas said, "Here we pay homage to those who paid the ultimate price and those who lived during the Liberation of Guam in 1944.

"In this interactive map, you will not only find digital guides through the various historical sites, but you will also find detailed packages and eye-witness accounts of life on Guam during World War 2. We hope to help build awareness and a better understanding of what life was like in the 1940's, and how the Japanese occupation and subsequent liberation by the United States has left a lasting impact on our island. Press the arrow here or the 'start exploring' button below to begin your journey."
