Island grillers prepare for 6th Pork in the Park Cook-Off

Posted: Updated:

Get your grub on this weekend at the 6th Annual Pork in the Park Cook-Off. Chefs and teams who wish to participate in the cook off can sign up at the Department of Agriculture's Division of Aquatic and Wildlife Resources office in Mangilao. There are "pot" and "pig" categories for the cook-off with prizes for the best dish in each category.

The event follows the pig hunting derby which took place last weekend. Both events aim to raise awareness about the island's feral pig population epidemic and its effects on crops, native plants, and coral reefs.

The free event happens Saturday, December 17, from 12 to 4:30pm at the Governor Joseph Flores Memorial Park.
