Calvo, NMI governor tapped to sit on Trump committee

Governor Eddie Calvo and Northern Mariana Islands Governor Ralph Torres have been selected to serve as the co-chairs of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's Asian Pacific American Advisory Committee. According to a release from the Trump campaign, the 31 women and men on the committee are elected, appointed and grassroots leaders who will "support and strengthen ties to each community and provide recommendations on how best to ensure Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders' voices are heard and included in the campaign."

Trump and Governor Mike Pence will meet with members of the committee and AAPI leaders to discuss growing concerns over educational opportunities, employment and the economy, which the campaign says "are of paramount concern to AAPI families across the nation."
