The head of Catholic Families for Apuron, Dr. Ricardo Eusebio, is urging the community to sign the petition to veto Bill 326 - but not because he's worried about the church going bankrupt. Instead, he thinks the bill doesn't do enough.

"If truly the legislature wants to protect kids, let us make a law that protects everybody - let's not just target a small portion of the population, let us revisit this law and do it so it protects everybody," he told KUAM News.

He said child molestation is far more prevalent outside of the church, and should be tackled holistically.

Governor Eddie Calvo's legal team is currently reviewing the measure, and his decision on the bill is due this Friday.
