Delegate of the administrator Father Jeff San Nicolas gave KUAM News an explanation on the Archdiocese of Agana's stance on Bill 326. The legislation lifts the civil statute of limitations on child sex abuse cases and was recently passed by senators on session floor. The bill now awaits action from Governor Eddie Calvo.

At masses this weekend, religious followers will hear a message from Apostolic Administrator Archbishop Savio Hon Tai Fai. Archbishop Hon asks that religious followers sign a petition to urge Calvo to veto the bill as it may result in damaging unintended consequences and may force the church into bankruptcy.

Conversely, the Concerned Catholics of Guam are urging the island's faithful not to sign it.

Archbishop Hon is currently in Rome where he is meeting with the Holy See to remove Archbishop Anthony Apuron as archbishop of the Archdiocese of Agana and appoint a successor.
