United in love: Latte of Freedom being lit with rainbow colors

The island community united in love and prayer to honor the victims of the Orlando, Florida shooting this past weekend. Dozens of island residents joined the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Toto and the Miss Pacificana organization during a special memorial mass and candlelight vigil in the central village on Wednesday night.

Pale Mike Crisostomo says the pain felt in Orlando is shared here with at home with the people of the Pacific. "We are sending the message out to our people and to our families that we are one with them," shared the priest, "and one with many who have families there as well and many who continue to pray for those of our loved ones throughout the world and throughout the nation."

The memorial mass honored the victims in Orlando, but anyone who is a victim of a hate crime or abuse.

Meanwhile at 6:30 tonight, the Isa Guam organization are coordinating a special lighting ceremony where the Latte of Freedom at Adelup will be illuminated in rainbow colors to honor the victims in Orlando and promote LGBT inclusion. The Latte of Freedom will remain lit until midnight.

Then at 9pm at Club Icon, a special candlelight vigil will be held.
