Shell stations 

In response to the Government of Guam’s declaration of Condition of Readiness 1, all Shell stations on Guam will be closed effective 8:00am today.

Guam Amateur Baseball Association 

Guam Amateur Baseball Association has postponed the Budweiser Amateur Baseball League games scheduled at Leo Palace on Thursday May 14th and Saturday May 16th. Please check the league facebook page AmateurBaseballGuam for rescheduling.

Guam Girl Scouts 

Due to the weather, the Guam Girl Scouts Board of Directors' "Auction, Fine Wine, Food & Friends" scheduled for Friday, May 15, has been postponed.  When a new date is scheduled, we'll post on our Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/GuamGirlScouts  

UOG Nursing Class 

Tthe University of Guam Nursing Class of 2015 has postponed their pinning ceremony from Saturday, May 16th to Tuesday, May 19th at the Sheraton Laguna Resort. The doors will open at 5:00 pm with the ceremony promptly starting at 6:00 pm. 

Citibank 

Citibank Guam is suspending branch hours by 3:00PM today as the island prepares for Typhoon Dolphin. We are also closed on Friday, May 15. 

University of Guam 

In anticipation of COR 2 being declared this afternoon, the University of Guam has cancelled all classes and activities after 4 p.m.

Catholic schools

(1) All Catholic schools will be closed on Friday May 15, 2015 because of Typhoon Dolphin.  Parents and guardians are advised to call their respective schools for more information. 

(2) San Vicente Catholic School, Barrigada - The 8th grade graduation is moved to Monday May 18th, 1pm at San Vicente Catholic Church, Barrigada.

 

Grand Opening - The Village, Sinajana 

Due to approaching typhoon, the Grand Opening for The Village today at Thursday May 14, 2015 will be postpone until further notice. 

Oversight Hearing for Department of Administration

Please be advised that the oversight hearing scheduled for the Department of Administration on Friday, May 15, 2015, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm in I Liheslaturan Guåhan’s Public Hearing Room has been postponed. 

The Committee on Finance & Taxation, General Government Operations, and Youth Development will now convene the oversight hearing on the Department of Administration on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 4:30 pm in I Liheslaturan Guåhan’s Public Hearing Room.

BankPacific will close its Guam offices today at 2 pm to allow our staff to make preparations at their homes for Typhoon Dolphin.
 
BankPacific’s ATMs are fully stocked and will be available to the public until the possible winds get stronger at which time theATMs will be shuttered and reopened immediately after the storm passes.
 
BankPacific’s online banking platform, MyCloudBanking, will remain open throughout  the storm.

The Grand Opening festivities will be rescheduled to June 5, Friday, at 5 pm.

The SPRING SHOWCASE has been postponed to next Friday, May 22 at the UOG Fine Arts Theater at 7 p.m.   

Saint Anthony Catholic School 8th Grade Graduation

8th Grade Graduation for Saint Anthony Catholic School has been rescheduled to Monday, May 18, 2015 at 10:00 AM and the Awards Banquet has been moved to Sunday, May 17, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the Sheraton Laguna Guam Resort.


2015 San Isidro Malojloj Fiesta Festival

The Feast of San Isidro, patron saint of the farmers scheduled to take place on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 15th  – 17th, 2015 has been re-scheduled to May 22nd - 24th, 2015.   The opening ceremony on Friday, May 22 at 7:30 p.m. will be the crowning of our Rai and La Raina Fiestan San Isidro..

 

Then on Saturday, February 23rd, the San Isidro Fiesta festival continues with the Festal Mass at 4:00 p.m. followed by procession and the traditional "Na Taotao Tu Manu" hosted by Malojloj Christian Mothers. Entertainment begins at 6:00 p.m. to include local recording artists and  dance performance from numerous cultural and entertainment groups and then concludes the following day on Sunday, May 24th, a fiesta celebrations at the homes. The Float Parade will begin at 3:00pm with Cultural Sports events afterwards at the Church Ground Fair. Nightly entertainment continues until 12 midnight fiesta festival ends. 

 

 In addition to the delicious food from our concessionaires, there will be game booths, arts and crafts, nursery plants and farm produce which highlights the feast of San Isidro. The public is encouraged to participate for prizes in talaya (fishnet throwing), grease pole climbing, coconut husking and grating, and tuba drinking contest.

Guam Micronesia Island Fair rescheduled for June 12th-14th 


(Wednesday, May 13, 2015 - Tumon, Guam) Please be advised that due to the Typhoon Watch declared for Guam, the 28th Guam Micronesia Island Fair (GMIF), previously scheduled for this weekend (May 15-17, 2015) has been rescheduled to June 12, 13 and 14, 2015. The fair will open from 12 noon to 9:00 p.m. each day.

GMIF delegations have been contacted and we look forward to confirming additional details. Furthermore, the Mana'o Company has confirmed they will still be performing for this GVB signature event. The complete entertainment line-up will be announced soon.

Vendor packet pick up will be available at the Guam Visitors Bureau in Tumon beginning on Monday, June 8.

WAR IN THE PACIFIC NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK CLOSED

War in the Pacific National Historical Park announces that, due to impending Typhoon Dolphin, the T. Stell Newman Visitor Center is closed. The park, restrooms, gates, and all facilities will be closed by 5 pm today. All scheduled programs and reservations will be cancelled until it is safe to reopen. 

The closure may be extended through Saturday and some park areas or facilities may remain closed if needed. The park will resume normal operations when Guam is in COR 4. We apologize for the inconvenience of closures, but they are necessary for visitor and park safety.

COMMUNITY FIRST GUAM FCU BUSINESS HOURS

In light of the current Typhoon Watch, Community First Guam Federal Credit Union will resume normal hours of operation until the island is declared in Condition of Readiness 2, or COR2.

In the event Guam is placed in COR2, our member service centers will be closed for business.

We will resume regular hours of operation once the island is given an all-clear signal.

GCC COMMENCEMENT MOVED TO SUNDAY MAY 17

Due to the approach of Typhoon Dolphin to Guam, the Guam Community College Commencement has been moved to Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. in the UOG Calvo Field House. All graduates are to report to the Field House at 12:00 P.M. on Sunday.

The commencement practice originally scheduled for tomorrowThursday, May 14, at 1:00 P.M. at the Field House has been CANCELLED.

Guam Community College will now confer 430* degrees, certificates, and/or diplomas upon 353 graduates on Sunday, May 17, at 2:00 P.M. This year's graduating class includes a record number of postsecondary credentials and journey worker certificates conferred, as well as many individual stories of perseverance and triumph.

*Some graduates are receiving more than one credential.



GUAM NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE

In the public's best interest and in preparation for the upcoming typhoon,  the Guam National Wildlife Refuge, Ritidian Unit, will be closed on May 14 & 15, 2015 (Thurs/Fri).  All previously confirmed programs, tours and visits are cancelled.  Weather-permitting, the Refuge may resume normal operations on Saturday, 16 May, 2015.  The Refuge is open daily from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and is closed on all Federal holidays (including Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's day) Any questions and concerns may be directed by calling 355-5096 or contact us at  http://www.fws.gov/guam.  

 Academy of our Lady of Guam:

In anticipation of the storm, students will be dismissed on Thursday(5/14/15) at 12:00 noon
Changes for the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation:
 -Baccalaureate Mass will still be on Thursday,5/14, at 10:00 a.m. instead.  The Seniors should report at 9:00 a.m. to the Cathedral-Basilica.
 - Graduation is now scheduled for Saturday, 5/16, at 2:00 p.m. at the Phoenix Center.   Doors will open at 1:00 p.m.


American Cancer Society Relay for Life Pre Event Cancer Survivor and Caregiver Luncheon:


Due to the impending storm, the Relay For Life pre-event survivor and caregiver luncheon scheduled for this Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the FD Phoenix Center has been postponed until further notice. Plans for Relay For Life of Guam, scheduled for May 22 at George Washington Track Field are still on schedule as planned. The event will take place from 7:00PM—7:00AM.

25th Annual Youth for Youth Conference:

Youth for Youth LIVE! Guam announces that the 25th Annual Youth for Youth Conference, to be originally to be held at Hyatt Regency Hotel on Friday is rescheduled to May 16-18, 2015,Saturday thru Monday. This status remains, pending further announcements provided by the Government of Guam.
