Colonel Roderick R. Leon Guerrero, joint chief of staff for the Guam National Guard, was pinned to the rank of brigadier general by Governor Eddie Calvo at a ceremony this afternoon. The pinning ceremony precedes the change of command ceremony set to take place this Saturday.

Leon Guerrero will be the tenth adjutant general for the Guam National Guard since its establishment 33 years ago. He is taking over command from Major General Benny Paulino, who is retiring after 36 years of combined military service to our nation and the island.

Paulino served as adjutant general from 1996 to 2002 and again from 2011 to 2015.
