Guam - It has been rather cool outside and according to the National Weather Service meteorologist Landon Aydlett the island will be enjoying the cool breeze for another week.

He told KUAM News, "It's winter time so what happens this time of year is we have these cool fronts that come off of Japan and China and as it goes into the pacific ocean it loses its cold front characteristics but as it comes over our region in what we call a sheer line once that cheer line drops over the Marianas what we see with that is drier weather much more comfortable to be outside in."

He added while the temperatures are still fairly warm the humidity is much lower and breezier conditions can be seen. Along with the cool front the NWS has issued a high surf advisory across the Marianas for north facing reefs. He says with the next sheer line large waves are expected over the weekend with the possibility of small craft advisory for winds and sea conditions, adding that over the weekend there may be a chance of isolated showers.
