Guam - In the last year, the Senior Citizens Center operations serviced more than 1,300 of the island's man'amko. And today before the Guam Legislature, the senior citizens administrator along with Public Health and the island's mayors gathered for a roundtable to discuss challenges and goals for the program.

Administrator Sharleen San Nicolas said, "Goals for the next four years we're looking at is overall for aging services to submit our Guam's four year state plan for aging and this will be for the periods of 2016 to 2019. Of course, I mentioned advocating with our local government to ensure we get full funding."

The Mayors Council of Guam took over the 12 senior citizen centers throughout the island in 2012. Several of the island's mayors noted vendor issues and concerns over adequate funding.
