Guam - Senator Nerissa Underwood has met with the Guam Federation of Teachers, the Guam Commission for Educator Certification, as well as Speaker Judi Won Pat regarding concerns over Bill 420, which lapsed into law earlier this month. She said there have been discussions about providing teachers an orientation to educate them about the new law.

DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez told KUAM News, "I want to make sure first of all that our teachers are aware of what the bill says, there's been a lot of confusion about what it is and what it isn't, so I want to provide them both a copy of the law as well as well as our own sort of analysis and then invite them to just be candid about what it is they're concerned about."

Both Fernandez and Senator Underwood will be meeting to discuss the issue further.
