Guam - It appears the trial against 61-year-old Francis Taitano is drawing to a close.

But not after the court denied defense's motion for acquittal of the charges today.

As we've been reporting, Taitano stands trial for an alleged rape that occurred almost seven years ago. The victim reported she was sleeping in the same bed as Taitano and his wife when he allegedly woke her up in the middle of the night, called her to the patio, and forced her to touch his privates. The victim states he called her back into the room and raped her in the bed while his wife was asleep next to them.

Closing arguments are slated for Friday at noon.
