College scholarships help aspiring business leaders

Guam - Over $22,000 in scholarships was awarded this morning to eight local students as part of the First Hawaiian Bank and Guam Business Magazine Businesswoman of the Year Scholarship Program.
The scholarships are intended to promote higher education through financial assistance for college students pursuing professional careers in business. Seven of the students are from the University of Guam with one from the Guam Community College. Earlier this month, over $7,000 in scholarships was awarded to 14 students in the Northern Marianas College in Saipan.
Since 2006, the program has awarded over $184,000 in scholarships to Guam and Saipan students.
