Guam - A man accused of signing-off on his deceased mother's checks pleaded guilty to the charges. Francisco Javier admitted to collecting over $80,000 in his mother's Social Security retirement insurance and other related benefits. Court documents state that because the Social Security Office didn't know the beneficiary had died back in 2002, they continued to send her checks to a post office box here on Guam.

Javier's sentencing is slated for February 2015 where he could face at maximum twenty years behind bars and a $500,000 fine.
