Guam - Despite the rain the project is moving forward. The George Washington High School track is undergoing much needed renovations.

DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez said, "Every chance we get we work to complete the GW track which includes resurfacing the track and stripping the track as well as repairing the lights that will end up lighting the track and the field for GW football and other sports."

According to Fernandez the lighting system is about 90 percent completed adding that the contractor for the $350,000 project has laid the first coating on the track and a second coating will be applied once the weather permits. As soon as that's finished the track will be turned over to the Geckos.
