DOE superintendent takes the Bucket Challenge

Guam - The Ice Bucket Challenge has made its way to the Department of Education as superintendent Jon Fernandez was called out to participate in the effort to raise awareness and donations for individuals with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's Disease.

"We are here at JFK this morning we wanted to do it with the students involved and I have got my leadership team here joining us its for a good cause to raise awareness for Lou Gehrig's Disease and also we want to challenge our seniors as well to not just take up the cause for ALS but for many of the causes we have here on Guam," Fernandez said.

Lou Gehrig's Disease which a progressive neurodegenerative disease which affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord eventually leading to death. And as Fernandez and his team braved the cold for ALS he challenged all administrators in DOE to do the same.
