Guam - The Attorney General's Office released the cost breakdown to fly in witnesses from Japan, the US mainland, and Australia to testify on behalf of prosecution in the Chad DeSoto trial.
According to the travel report, each off-island witness was allowed to bring one person as their support witness.
A total of thirteen airline tickets were purchased.
The agency notes that their office set aside $20,000 for such purposes in addition to the $43,000 generously donated by the Guam Visitors Bureau's 2/12 Incident Memorial Fund. We should note, immediately following the Tumon tragedy, GVB also expended approximately $200,000 for airfare, funeral costs, an air hearse, hotel, and bereavement costs.
