Guam - Congratulations to the Guam Territorial Band. They received a Gold award at the 2014 Australian International Music Festival on Saturday, July 12 at the Sydney Town! This is the band's third visit to Sydney.  Previous visits included 1993 (Bronze) and 2005 (Gold & Command Performance).

The Guam Territorial Band started their tour on July 3 and began intense rehearsals at the Collaroy Salvation Army Center in the Dee Why Suburb of Sydney.  The tour continued with an intense performance schedule that included appearances at the Sydney Conservatory of Music on July 6, the world-famous Sydney Opera House on July 7, the Darling Harbour Amphitheater on July 8, and the Festival Adjudicated performance on July 9 at the City Recital Hall at Angel Place.  The tour also included educational cultural exchange programs and scenic tours of Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Featherdale Wildlife Park.

The Guam Territorial Band, along with the St. Joseph College Jazz Ensemble from Brisbane and the "Northern Voice" from Boston, MA were featured as Command Performance (Judges' choice) ensemble among 17 ensembles from Singapore, New Zealand, Australia and the USA.
