Closures announced for storm

Guam - As a result of the island declared in Condition of Readiness 2, several closures have been announced. They include the following:     

-GPA Customer Services and Business Offices will be closed this afternoon.  This is to allow for GPA employees to secure work places as COR II has been declared. GPA operations crews will also be working to prepare for the tropical storm.  Motorists are advised to please allow for the work crews to pass as they are dispatched to different locations to secure or clear areas that may be a potential for forced outages.

- Community First Guam Federal Credit Union will be closing its member service centers at 2:00 p.m. Our member services centers will resume regular hours of operation once the island is declared in COR3.

-All classes at GCC are cancelled for the remainder of today, Friday, July 11th. Classes are also CANCELLED for tomorrow, Saturday, July 12th, due to the impending storm.

-War in the Pacific National Historical Park will close operations at noon today through tomorrow, Saturday, July 12.  The park visitor center, restrooms, gates, and all facilities will be closed and all programs are cancelled until conditions are safe to reopen.  The closure may be extended through Sunday and some park areas or facilities may remain closed if needed.

-Officials at the University of Guam announce that the campus is now closed due to the Governor’s declaration of COR 2. Classes and activities on campus are cancelled until such time that the COR changes back to where the University may re-open.

-The Judiciary of Guam is closed in preparation for Tropical Depression 09W effective as of 12:00 pm today, Friday, July 11, 2014.  All proceedings scheduled in the Superior and Supreme Courts of Guam, including those scheduled at the Northern Satellite Court, for the rest of the day will be rescheduled to a later date.
