Guam - This weekend, summer lovin' begins. Delmonico Kitchen and Bar presents "Grease - The Tasting". The event benefits the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Guam.

The event is a two-night occasion combining the delicious dishes of Delmonico's Chef Eddie Chien and music and moves from the popular movie. A portion of proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Guam. Executive director for the non-profit Vanessa Estella told KUAM News, "The proceeds for this 2014 Grease gala will benefit the youth mentoring programs and our support services."

Those in attendance will enjoy an 8-course menu while singing along to some of your favorite songs alongside Sandy, Danny and the gang. Directed by Ernest Ochoco, the cast will delight guests with some of the movie's most memorable tunes.

Earl Espiritu, who plays the role of Kennickie, said, "My favorite thing about this show is definitely the music, I mean its grease, everybody loves Grease its classic its timeless its high energy its just great and its Broadway's all about what musical theater is all about and that's the best thing about this show."

The performances will even include a few surprises. Issa Santos plays the role of Marty and Jan. she said, "I love performing in musical theater and this is no exception. The music of course is really great and so is acting and having fun with everyone. I like what was said before, its not the actual performance that we're putting together we have our own surprises so I think that's been my favorite part is all the little twists we put into it ourselves."

Monica Anderson, who plays Rizzo says being a part of the show, is very nostalgic for her. "I grew up watching Grease and loving grease and so being apart of this has just been a great experience so far and I enjoy every minute of it."

Estella is excited about this 2 night event and is grateful to all those who are contributing to this worthwhile cause. "We're really grateful and honored to be named recipient of this event," she added.

Grease the tasting will be held on Saturday July 5th and Sunday July 6th. Tickets are $150 with a portion to benefit the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Guam. Cocktails begin at 6:30pm with dinner to follow at 7pm. To make reservations, call DKB at 647-4411.

Government wants full payment from Ray Charles Tedtaotao Camacho

It's a $750 wedding ring, but its significance and meaning, priceless. While Ray Charles Tedtaotao Camacho is serving life behind bars, the government argues he's not being held fully accountable for his crimes. Five years ago, Camacho kidnapped and raped Monique Baza after she made a quick run to the bakery for bread. Though it's a minimal amount for the ring that was never recovered, defense has motioned to waive restitution.  The government, in its response this week, argued ...More >>
