Guam - It appears that the hot conditions at three DOE schools will be a lot cooler when the new school year begins.

According to DOE superintendent Jon Fernandez the procurement to replace air conditioning ducts at Upi Elementary, Southern High and Simon Sanchez High

School did meet a little snag as the award to JRN was appealed and protested against by JMB Modern Technologies. However that was quickly worked out by the Office of Public Accountability who denied the appeal...with the OPA's decision, JRN can now move forward and can complete the work on the ducts. Fernandez says the A/C ducts will be up and running by the start of the school year. He adds that currently they are installing major units for Southern High and the Simon Sanchez cafeteria.
