Guam - Shieh Scholar Athlete Emma Martin chose her charity donation to be the Guam Foster Parents Association. Emma and her mother were at the Child Protective Services Office located at the Terlaje Building this afternoon. Emma donated her $1,000.00 check to the organization.

Emma Martin/Guam High School Sot: I chose the Guam Foster Family Association, mostly knew about them from Guam High School because I was part of the NHS. One of our service projects we decided to help out with the foster children because as high school kids we know it's like to be a kid and just imagine it would be so hard not to have all the things we have like foster children. When I started to apply for Dr. Sheih's scholarship and I learned about the community service award and just reading about how you would be able to donate to an organization of your choice I kind of filled my mind automatically that Guam Foster Family would be the choice because I had that connection already.
