GEC holds registrar training

Guam - Guam Election Commission executive director Maria Pangelinan says today marked the final training for volunteer voter registrars in the community. Eight trainings have been held since January.  As of last week there were 164 deputized volunteer voter registrars.

"The goal of the volunteer voter registrar training is to increase registered voters with them being out in the community it becomes more easier for voters to register," she said.

As of June 19, there are a total of 47,174 registered voters with the Guam Election Commission. Pangelinan says that total number is considered low by seasoned campaigners but hopes to see it increase as more candidates continue to file with the GEC.
