Governor signs 12 bills, vetoes 2

Guam - Guam now has twelve new laws on its book this after Governor Eddie Calvo signed several bills that were passed by senators during session earlier this month.

Some of those new laws include a prohibition on the sale or distribution of electronic cigarettes to minors.  Bill 328 was signed which is the latest version of the port's master plan update, Bill 227 was signed which authorizes the creation of the Guam Streetlight Authority to issue bonds to finance the purchase and installation of new l-e-d streetlights and finally the governor signed Bill 296 into law. The bill changes language for concealed firearms licensing from "may" to shall." that means concealed firearm licenses shall be issued to an applicant who meets the various specifications.

The governor in the meantime vetoed two bills namely 220 and 279 related to Guam EPA and recycling and cleanup efforts.
