Guam - If you've driven by the carnival grounds, you've seen the transformation. And in a matter of days the carnival grounds will come to life.   Sinajana mayor and Liberation Planning Committee member Robert Hoffman says the soft opening is scheduled for this Saturday, May 31st, with the official ribbon cutting scheduled for June 6th.

"Right now we have our vendors everything is taken we have a full slate of vendors coming on board 21023 we have exciting food, Korean, Filipino, Vietnamese, Chamorro so its an international good market that's there the rides are coming up and on schedule we're looking to get all the vendors in . We have a lot of new faces so we're really excited about that," he said.

The 70th Guam Liberation Day theme is generations of service and sacrifice.  Right now there are 7 confirmed liberators that will be on Guam for the liberation, According to Hoffman however they are hoping to get ten. Meanwhile on Liberation Day there will be two fireworks shows one at 7pm and 9pm.
