May 11-17 proclaimed Police Week

Guam - It's that time of year to recognize the men and woman who keep our island safe as May 11 through 17 is proclaimed Guam Police Week.

Chief of police Fred Bordallo said, "As public servants, police officers perform their work with courage, heroism, and professionalism. Officers make it their mission to protect and serve everyone in our in our community."

Along with today's proclamation signing, awards were given to a handful of exemplary GPD employees. They include Officer of the Year Eugene Charfauros, Civilian of the Year Tanya Chargualaf, Supervisor of the Year Henry Flores, Manager of the Year Lt. Scott Wade, Police Reservist of the Year Thaddeus Supnet, and Unit Citation of the Year the Victims Advocate Unit.
