Guam - It was last week when Congresswoman Madeleine Bordallo came under fire as a result of her introduction of  controversial HR-4402 that went up for a public hearing. The measure authorizes the Secretary of the Navy to establish a surface danger zone over the Guam National Wildlife Refuge or any portion thereof to support the operation of a live fire training range complex at Northwest Field. Friday, Bordallo called for a meeting with Guam lawmakers via teleconference from Washington, DC to discuss HR-4402 and other issues important to the buildup and in anticipation of upcoming meetings on the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. She says "we have very difficult choices to make, but I am confident that we will be able to work together and find a solution that presents a unified One Guam position. I appreciated the senators' openness during the meeting. We will continue to work to decide the best way forward for the buildup." The teleconference was held at her Guam District Office along with Jay Rojas, a majority of the senators and the Governor's Buildup Office director Mark Calvo.
