May is Lupus Awareness Month

Guam - May has been declared lupus awareness month in hopes of educating the public about lupus an how it is affects those who are afflicted. Governor Eddie Calvo said, "I wish I had the statistics but its something that has been in my family close friends that have had it a relative that has had it so for a disease that has really been under the radar I wonder how many people are like me that yes there is that relationship to the first or second degree."

The Lupus Awareness Group will be hosting several events in the upcoming weeks Friday at 4:30 the group will conduct a sunset wave across ITC building followed by the celebration of World Lupus Day on May 10 at Guam Premier Outlets from 9 to 1pm, and on May 16th everyone is encouraged to put on purple in support and recognition of lupus.
