MFL playoffs this weekend

Guam - In MFL football the defending champions Pepsi Warriors will look to get a chance at defending their title when they face the Cars Plus Rams in the semi finals tomorrow night at the Hal Shiroma Field in Dededo. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm with the Rams coming into the game with some momentum after an overtime win in their last regular season game against the DLX Knights. The Warriors on the other hand sport a 6-0 record and wrapped up their second consecutive unbeaten regular season. On Sunday the #2 seed IP&E Angels will take on the #3 seed DLX Knights at 7:00 pm. The Angels enter the game 4-2 while the Knights come in at 1-5. Winner of this game will advance to this year's MFL Championship game scheduled for May 2nd at 7:00 pm at the Hal Shiroma Field.

    Important news for our island veterans: the Guam VA will be holding several flu vaccination outreaches at various areas of the island in the coming weeks. To be eligible, veterans must be registered with the Guam Community-Based Outreach Clinic and possess a valid ID card or other form of identification.     Local company WSTCO files a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the Ancestral Lands Commission and the Administrator of GEDA.  The suit stems from the breach of a lease agreement for 10 acres of ALC land in Radio, Barrigada where a slaughterhouse was to be built.

    A man who faces federal charges for receiving child pornography will be home for the holidays. On Friday morning, Joseph B. Pangelinan, Jr. was released to family and placed on electronic monitoring on the condition he stay off the Internet and away from children.
