GMH wins first place in GovGuam softball league

by Jolene Toves

Guam - It is all business while at work at the Guam Memorial Hospital but with the stress of the everyday job sometimes hospital employees need a dose of morale. And for a handful of GMH employees that prescription involves a bat and some softballs. The GMH softball team took to the field during the 2014 Department of Parks & Rec GovGuam coed softball league proving to be at the top of their game.

Hospital administrator Joseph Verga said, "I'm delighted we have champions here at GMH we are all champions here at GMH in everything we do and so I just want to congratulate the folks again and I expect a two-peat and a three-peat."

Winning first place the GMH softball team beat out the George Washington faculty and staff team 18 to 15. The game went all seven innings but in the end GMH came out victorious.
