Guam - The 2013 Guam Junior Golf League Fundraising Tournament will be held this Saturday at the Leo Palace Resort Country Club. The fee is $250.00 per team and the format is 2 Player Team, Select Shot, Modified Calloway Scoring.

Melvin Davis from the Guam Junior Golf League Head Coach said, "Well this tournament was put together by the Guam Junior Golf League and what we are trying to do is raise funds to keep the program going in operation. I would like to thank everybody that donated for this fundraiser and I hope when they come out here and play in this tournament they have a wonderful time. We have about 7 coaches and we give them a tournament every month and let them play every day in the afternoon and we pay for everything, the kids don't pay for anything just membership. The tournament, I just hope we get a lot of players to come out and we would like to see more people sign up for this golf tournament because it is for a good cause."

For more information on the tournament contact Karou Camacho at 688-2878 or Marlyn Oberiano at 687-6713.

Junior golfer Nalathai Vongjalorn added, "Golf is a game of honesty, you always have to be honest throughout the game and that you are only a good golfer if you have the passion for it and you have to be committed and you have to come out and practice every day of the week. I think the program is a great program for any beginning golfers or even if you are advanced already. They always help you build up and point out what you are doing wrong and they can help you tremendously with your game. I think overall that's why I have been in golf for so long because they always keep me going and motivated. I have been part of the program for about 5 years and the program has taught me the game of golf and has helped me with my swing and my passion of the game throughout the years. There are a lot of kids involved so it's always a friendly environment and there are always people there and when you need help there are a few coaches around to help you with your game."
