Guam - Bill 298 which stiffens penalties for those convicted of importing or possessing crystal methamphetamine received support from both the Guam Police Department and the Attorney General's Office.

Both agreed the bill sends a strong message to the community, especially when drug use often leads to violent crimes.

The bill also provides that a second offense would come with a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
