by Jolene Toves
Guam - Did you know that in just five seconds, the average motorist will have driven the length of a football field?
That's a significant distance and a motorist who is texting or doing something else instead of keeping their focus on the road can end up seriously harming themselves and others. A proclamation was signed today declaring April Distracted Driving Awareness Month. Officials are hoping to increase awareness of the consequences of distracted driving to ensure every driver understands their responsibility to follow the law, prevent reckless accidents and save lives.
