Guam National Guard events include bowling

Guam - The 2014 Guam National Guard Tag Cup events will get under way next weekend with Bowling at Central Lanes in Tamuning. The Tag Cup will take place throughout the next few months as a way to build camaraderie amongst their soldiers and family members.

1LT Danica Damian, TAG Cup Co-Chair, said, "We are really excited to announce our Tag Cup event.  It develops the spirit décor amongst our soldiers and our family members and also our airmen. It's an opportunity for our family members to get to know each other while maintaining mental and physical fitness through a variety of our sporting events. It also fosters great fellowship amongst our warriors and lastly it also provides a sense of belonging for our family members to be a bigger part of our family which is the Guam National Guard."

The Tag Cup Events are opened to all Guam National Guard service members, Guam National Guard retirees, family members and DMA employees. For more information call 735-4197

MSgt Bon Maratita, TAG Cup Co-Chair, said, "Our first event for the Tag Cup 2014 season will be bowling which will be held at Central Lanes in Tamuning on April 12th next week Saturday followed by fishing on April 26th Saturday at the Ipan Beach Park in Talofofo. For the month of May, we will have all-star softball, billiards and the popular event which will be combatives preliminary. The following event for June will be all star basketball and all star volleyball events. In July we will have our annual 5K Run in Barrigada and the following day will be an assortment of other sports for the whole GUNG Family. The culminating event which will be held in August will be the talent show and from there we will be giving awards to the individual event winners and the overall Tag Cup 2014 award winner for the whole year."
