Guam - Guam Environmental Protection Agency administrator Eric Palacios is taking the lead to address reports of PCB contamination near the Dededo Residential Transfer Station. "We are working to confirm who the owner of the property in question is. We are working to confirm whether or not it is actively being leased and by whom and we also want to know who the last lease is," he said.
Palacios says this will allow Guam EPA to determine who could be responsible for contaminating the site. At this point Guam EPA is actively working to confirm the data that is contained in the receiver's report and the environmental assessment. He adds that as long as the site remains undisturbed it should not cause an immediate public health hazard.
