Guam - The Guam Power Authority is about 100% complete with upgrades to the Tumon Substation across John F. Kennedy High School. Spokesperson Art Perez said, "We can better handle any new proposed developments down in Tumon, better service existing customer with power quality and improve liability with the new transformers and the upgraded digital equipment makes it more cost effective to conduct maintenance."
These improvements will allow for a greater capability to reroute power and support other distribution lines to improve the systems reliability and redundancy. The project is part of the $70 million upgrade to the islandwide power system.
