Guam - The Calvo Tenorio Administration has put together a working group to review the Department of Corrections' standard operating procedures. Governor's deputy press secretary Phill Leon Guerrero says certain recent incidents at the department highlighted the need to review and change some of DepCor's procedures to make them more efficient or eliminate redundancies.
The working group consists of members of the lieutenant governor's public safety team, his chief of staff, the director of Corrections as well as representatives from different law enforcement agencies.
The department has been criticized in recent months following investigations into officers getting foot massages on the job by inmates, sleeping on duty, and testing positive for drugs, and not having the proper locking mechanisms resulting in an accused murderer escaping from a transport vehicle.
