Accused Yigo bank robbery scout pleads not guilty

by Mindy Aguon

Guam - The lone person arrested so far in the Bank of Guam in Yigo robbery case pleaded not guilty before Superior Court Judge Alberto Tolentino today. Antonio Quitugua's truck was identified in surveillance video in the parking lot just before the heist. He eventually confessed to the cops that he was involved in a conspiracy with three unnamed individuals to rob the bank.

Quitugua is accused of being the scout to ensure there were no police in the area. Quitugua asserted his right to a speedy trial. He'll be back in court on March 25 for a criminal trial setting before Judge James Canto.

Quitugua was also recently arrested in connection to a burglary in Yigo in which several guns and ammunition were stolen. He remains behind bars on a half million dollars cash bail.
