Guam - A police officer who was conducting a check of the Tumon area was hit by a car early this morning by the entrance to the Fiesta Resort. Guam Police Department spokesperson Officer A.J. Balajadia says the officer had parked his patrol car at Guma Trankilidat and walked to the beach side conducting checks, he crossed back over in front of the hotel.
As the officer got on the sidewalk he was hit by a van entering the driveway causing him land several feet away. The 22-year-old driver was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian. The officer was treated for injuries at GMH.
