Defending MFL champ Warriors dominant in season opener

Guam - The 2014 Miller Football League kicked off last Friday night at Hal's Angels Field in Dededo. The DLX Knights and IPE Shell Angels took to the field to get the season underway. The Angels defense proved to be the difference maker holding the Knights to 6-ponits as they went on to take the narrow 10-6 win. Penalties would cost the Knights early in the game along with 5 interceptions thrown on offense.

The defending champions Pepsi Warriors faced the Cars Plus Rams on Sunday. The Rams lead 10-0 in the first quarter after turnovers put them in great field position. It took a couple of series for the Pepsi Warriors to get in their groove, running backs Hosea Ware and Dontana Keraskes handled the ground game. Ware with the big gain here, he finished with close to 200 yards with 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Danny Manibusan passed for 100-plus yards to go with 4 touchdowns. Jacob Torres on the receiving end of as the Warriors won 43-10.
