Fitness competition held in Hagatna

Guam - In Fitness news, the Survival of the Fittest competition was held at the Paradise Fitness Center in Hagatna. Two teams that competed were the Guam Fire Department and Team Wolfpack. The competition started with a bench press competition with 3 members of each team repping out different weight put on the bar. Next was a 3-mile run on treadmill, followed by Planking, which member of each team could last the longest. Competitors then did the Farmers walk, burpies and pull ups. Taking the first of the 4 round competition was team Wolfpack. The last round of the Survival of the Fittest competition will be every man for himself, between all the winners of throughout the event.

Jared Leon Guerrero of GFD said, "The purpose of this competition or why the Fire Department is competing is because we recognize fitness and living a healthy lifestyle is important. We want to give an example back to the people and our Fire Chief Joey San Nicolas. He wants us to display and show the people of Guam that living a healthy lifestyle is important not only for just your health but also your families health as well. For us to perform recreationally and for us to blow off some steam, compete in this competition and live a healthy lifestyle."
