by Ken Quintanilla

Guam - Senator Aline Yamashita has been tapped to lead the governor's initiative to pilot a 24-hour expanded and integrated mass transit program in Tamuning, Tumon, Harmon and Dededo.  The planning team is now tasked with gathering public input and defining the pilot program which must be ADA compliant, provide reliable transportation service, be capable of special accommodations and be able to adapt to expand to islandwide services should the program succeed. Other members of the planning team include the administrator of GEDA, the general manager of the Guam Regional Transit Authority, the directors of Public Health and Public Works, the superintendent of education, a representative from the Chamber of Commerce and a representative from the Guam Hotel and Restaurant Association.
