Plans to renovate roads, mass transit outlined

by Sabrina Salas Matanane

Guam - One of the initiatives Governor Eddie Calvo announced during his 2014 State of the Island Address was his plans to launch a pilot program to consolidate bus operations in Tamuning, Tumon, Harmon and Dededo into one mass transit system.

The governor signed an executive order yesterday morning instructing Public Works, the Division of Senior Citizens and the mass transit agency to make that happen.

DPW director Carl Dominguez shared, "We're going to do this in the most populated areas of Guam first where we can get more bang for the buck  with it so we'll plan it out and we'll test it and if all works well we'll expand it."

Other initiatives include building, constructing and renovating island roads and bridges.
