Guam - A change of charge ceremony was held this morning at Camp Covington as Naval Mobile Construction Battalion 11 turned over duties to NMCB 1.

Lt. Samuel Tatel said, "We have a lot to be proud of. We accomplished a lot during this deployment. We should really leave Guam with our heads held high."

Tatel notes that during their six months on Guam, the NMBC 11 completed several projects in support of the naval base and the civilian community, including building a structure for the water tank storage facility for the submarine squadron and rebuilding the monument at Asan Beach Park.

NMBC 11 is now slated to return to their home port in Mississippi. Navy construction battalions have been on Guam since the island's liberation from Japanese occupation in 1944.
