by Krystal Paco

Guam - While the Guam Fire Department continues to investigate unauthorized fireworks in Yigo and Dededo last month, they also stress to the public that sparklers and sky lanterns are also illegal.

GFD spokesperson Lieutenant Ed Artero said, "Just a reminder that fireworks are illegal to include sparklers. you need to get a permit with the Guam Fire Department, you have to be authorized to bring it in and store it and, also sky lanterns are also illegal. You need a clearance with the FAA and the fire department to launch sky lanterns."

For more information on what's permitted, call the Fire Prevention Office at the One-Stop Center 646-8810.
