Guam - The Guam Memorial Hospital board of trustees approved plans for the up and coming urgent care facility.
GMH administrator Joseph Verga says this follows months of meetings with the Urgent Care Planning Committee. Now that the board has approved, the committee will reconvene to make modifications before presenting the plan to lawmakers.
The facility will be funded from revenues derived from the taxation of limited gaming machines. Verga is working with the Department of Administration to ensure the hospital gets the revenue on a more regular basis.
To date GMH has only received one check from DOA since the law's implementation six months ago.
