Guam - Police have identified the pedestrian who was killed over the weekend after he was struck by a car. 52-year-old Robert Simmering died from a crushed chest. Police say he was walking on Route 16 by Harmon Loop Hotel when he was struck by the driver of a 2011 Nissan Pathfinder.
Medical examiner Dr. Aurelio Espinola says it will take some time before he can determine if Simmering was under the influence at the time of the incident.
His death marks the first traffic-related fatality of the year 2014.
