Guam - Accused murderer Keith Garrido is scheduled to go to trial next month. Garrido appeared in the superior court today as a motion was made seeking a fingerprint expert.

The defendant is accused of breaking into a Barrigada home and then brutally beating Nancy Mafnas, leaving her to die as he stole $7 from her purse and her car. Garrido also faces criminal charges of attempted murder, felony escape and more for escaping from a Department of Corrections transport vehicle and breaking into a home and beating and robbing a woman.

Another motion hearing will be held on January 6 with the court setting jury selection and trial for the Mafnas murder for January 20.
